My Next Life
In my next life
I want to be something
Something more than I was
in this life
In my next life
I want to be noble and honest
caring and true
Something more than I was
in this life
In my next life
I want to be free from the mistakes
and errors and misdeeds and missteps
Something better than I was
in this life
In my next life
I want to fly
To soar with the birds
To sit on a branch
Something I could never do
in this life
In my next life
I want to love stronger, live abundantly
breathe better, laugh harder
Something better than I did
in this life
In my next life
I want people to see me for who I am
Not what they think me to be
Something they never did
in this life
In my next life
I want to feel the passion
Of unlimited possibility
Something I only felt once
in this life
In my next life
I want to be a better father, a better lover
a better friend
Something more than I was in this life
In my next life
I want to be closer to God
to experience Him in a different way
in a different manner
Something I haven’t felt
in this life
In my next life
I want to stand up for the courage of my convictions
And be willing to die
For that which I believe in
Something I haven’t done
in this life
In my next life
I want to realize
That my next life
Doesn’t start when I die
But when I choose to begin living
This Life.
